This is the final motion graphic piece for the “Hidden Worlds Festival”. I’m pleased with how my motion graphic piece turned out. I think that audio I picked went really well with my video clips because the clips are bright and peaceful and the audio has this ambient, chill feel to it. The music having beats in it aloud the video to clips to transition nicely into the next clip and creates the feel of the video and audio working together. I am happy with how the mirror effect looks and how you get these interesting abstract shapes out of ordinary buildings creating these secret hidden worlds. I think I made a good safe decision with the text. I didn’t want the text to be confusing as the clips are so abstract. To combat this I made the text just a simple, modern, bold text that stood out from the clips. All together I think my motion graphics piece was thought out and I took my idea and created what I envisioned.
I added all my video files into after effects after I had composed them in premier.
I marked out the beats in the audio so i could place my clips on top of them so the video and audio work together instead of separately.
I was inspired by the work of Danny Yount when creating my motion graphics piece. I took the mirror effect and applied it at different angles on my video clips to create this abstract interesting video.
With the text I kept it big and bold. With the video being so abstract I wanted the text to be the opposite to it.
I put in shapes around the text. These shapes would rotate and move drawings attention to the text. The shapes would also have the mirrored effect on creating abstract interesting shapes that kept moving.
This is a mind map I created to get my ideas down for the motion graphics videos.
Simply compression means to take a big file and compress it and make it smaller. If you are filming in HD you end up with a big file size this takes up loads of storage and will take a long time to transfer. When you compress it, it can cut the file size significantly. This then will take up less storage and can be transferred faster.
There are two ways to compress a video Spatial compression also know as intraframe and Temporal compression which is also know as interframe. Intraframe is only applied to individual video frames it uses the same process as what is used in a picture. It compresses each still picture and lines them up to use in the video. Intraframe compressions works the same as interframe compression as it gives pixels instructions on what to do. It gives instructions out such as staying the same, rotating and changing colour. There are “I” frames “B” frames and “P” frames. B frames are predictions between the “I” and “P” frames and use a quarter less data as “I” frames. Bitrates are the amount of data being used every second. If a video has a low bitrate it will be low quality. If a video has high bitrates it will be high quality. So the higher the bitrate the better quality video you will get.

” Tate Liverpool is the home of the National Collection of Modern Art in the north.”
“The gallery also offers large displays of work from the National Collection free of charge.”
The walker is a large gallery based in the centre of Liverpool. It has one of the largest art collections in the UK. It is very traditional and has these huge portraits and big oil paintings. It doesn’t have any visual media but i think would be open to new ideas and exhibitions.
The theme for this project is ” Hidden Worlds “. As a class we have talked about what the theme means.
- The invisible surroundings.
- Things from wireless networks to ones and zeros that make digital images.
- Take closer at things we routinely ignore.
- What we co-exsit with.
